Kid-Approved AIP Collagen Shake

Following a restrictive diet, whether that be Paleo, AIP (Autoimmune Paleo/Protocol), food allergies or food sensitivities can make finding easy quality meals extra challenging.
If you have been following me for any time, you know I love shakes and smoothies! There are many that are high quality ingredients and offer a significant amount of protein. After my first pregnancy, and learning how much protein I was supposed to have each day, I realized most days I was WAY under the target. So shakes are often a great way to get that extra protein in your diet!
After finding out about Lucia’s leaky gut and extensive food sensitivities finding shakes that were approved for her was next to impossible. I am excited to share that I have found one!! Shavasana Foods, makes two flavors of AIP, paleo, non-gmo, gluten free shakes specifically for people needing the most whole foods, natural ingredients, plus it is made with bovine collagen! So no, not vegan, but all the rage these days is eating high fat, animal fat to be specific in order to keep our bodies functioning at their best.
When following a restrictive diet, finding a shake blend that is high in protein and uses quality ingredients is hard!
I also love that the founders of Shavasana Foods are also the creators of KC Naturals, an incredible AIP sauce and spice company. Stay tuned, I’m going to be sharing why I love them soon! The owners are true AIP, healthy living advocates.
Here’s my recipe to use with the Veggie Vinyasa collagen protein shake:
1 cup frozen mango
1/2 cup frozen banana
1/2 cup filtered water
1/2 cup coconut milk
1 heaping scoop Veggie Vinyasa
Blend and enjoy!! Such an easy treat with 20 gram of protein and easy for busy days!
Best news ever, both my kids LOVE this shake!!
Also a brief note about collagen, there are tons of health benefits to it, including the protein boosts it gives to people suffering from auto-immune disease. This article lays out some of the health benefits.
